The Linked Post aka The Posted Link
Any post worth its salt is supposed to have a lot of “links” to external parties in it. We have articles with nothing but links in them and articles with only links to other articles by the same author, that when you diligently follow every link, you will find that you would have read every article in that blog/site at least twice.
What irritate me are the articles which have meaningless links! People link to wikipedia articles, dictionaries and lot of stupid stuff. Another dangerous variety are the links to crazy sites based on some random words - like - if there is a word ‘mobile’ in the article, it would have a link to a mobile purchase website! Gosh. I guess there are plug-ins available to wordpress & other such blogging platforms to automatically introduce links! I suspect there are special SEO tools also to do these!
And then there are these “related posts” thing that are auto-generated. Most of the times they only show random posts that I feel the title should actually be changed to “unrelated posts”.

Many “power” bloggers (at least the tech blogs that I follow) actually introduce a lot of stupid/unrelated images too in their posts, from hollywood movies to what not. I guess several times they are supposed to be funny or something like that.
Given this background, now that I also entertain some ambition of being a blogger of some worth, I decided to try “Zemanta”, a plug in that comes for different browsers and blogging software. The plug-in is supposed to provide you with automatic links and image suggestions, based on the content of your post. I use Windows Live Writer and installed Zementa on it. Results have been disastrous so far.
Here is hoping Zemanta will improve or I will find other ways of adding links, images to improve my blogging skills(!) and become a blogger of any worth!!
PS::: Here is a suggestion - why not someone offer something like a ‘spell check’ on MS Word. I run the wizard (like pressing F7) and then automatically I get suggestions for every word and I get to choose what I want & what not. Does something exist already like this?
